As the world’s healthcare landscape continues to evolve, the need for dignified, compassionate, and personalised care at the end of life remains a universal priority. Since its inception in 2014, the Collaborative has united practitioners and researchers from around the globe, dedicated to improving the experiences of those in their final days and hours. At the end of another successful year, the Executive Committee is pleased to share with you the Collaborative's 2023/24 Annual Review, which highlights the profound impact of our collective efforts and showcases the milestones we have achieved over the past year.

Some of the advances made in 2024 include:

  • Completion of the iLIVE Project: This initiative has reached a significant milestone, offering new insights and tools to enhance care for the dying.

  • Expansion of the 10/40 Model: The model continues to gain traction, bringing its innovative approach to an ever-widening audience.

  • Growth in Membership: Our network has expanded, bringing together an even more diverse and skilled group of professionals.

  • Establishing the EAPC Task Force on Care for the Dying: This critical development increases our reach and influence as we begin work on a White Paper on Care for the Dying.

Each of these achievements underscores the Collaborative’s unwavering dedication to excellence in care for the dying. They also reflect the power of international cooperation, education, and research to drive meaningful change.

It is our hope that this Annual Review not only informs our members of recent progress but also inspires them to deepen their involvement and embrace new opportunities for improvement. Together, we are building a global movement that prioritises humanity, dignity, and respect, and we look forward with anticipation to the opportunities that 2025 will bring.
